On the municipal real estate platform KIP Metropolregion FrankfurtRheinMain you can find out about the current construction areas in which commercial use is permitted: mixed areas, commercial areas or industrial estates.

According to the 2018 IHK trade market report, the boom on the commercial real estate market in the Frankfurt-Main IHK district has been continued in 2017.

In particular, the office market as well as the market for warehouse and

logistics space showed above-average performance. By contrast, the retail sector stagnated. 2017 was the second best year ever on the Frankfurt office market for commercial lettings. Compared to the previous year, office space turnover rose by around 40 percent and even by 60 percent on a ten-year average. Vacancy fell to around nine percent.

The traditionally strongly represented financial sector, but also co-working locations for start-ups and founders, provided a boost.

Demand for warehouse and logistics space in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region remained high. With 650,000 square metres let, a new record was set here.
